Job summary

Gauer Olsen Chartered Professional Accountants in Victoria, BC is seeking an intermediate public practice accountant with 3–5 years of experience to support compilation, tax, and bookkeeping work for owner-managed businesses and individuals.

Qualifications

• Approximately 3–5 years working in public practice.
• CPA student or recently designated CPA with public practice experience.
• Strong work ethic and ability to work in a team environment.
• Effective verbal and written communication with clients and colleagues.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Prepare compilation engagement files and T2 corporate tax returns for intermediate and above.
• Understand corporate tax balances (CDA, RDTOH, GRIP, etc.).
• Prepare corporate or personal tax planning scenario calculations.
• Prepare Canadian personal tax returns – intermediate level and above.
• Prepare/review a variety of T-slips and GST/compliance filings.
• Assist with accounting and bookkeeping support for clients.
• Assist with special projects as assigned by partners and managers.
