Job summary

Gauer Olsen Chartered Professional Accountants in Victoria, BC seeks an experienced CPA with 3–5 years in public practice. You will manage teams, serve clients, and handle tax and accounting work for owner-managed businesses, professionals, families, and individuals on Vancouver Island and beyond.

You will review corporate/payroll tax, prepare personal tax returns, and mentor junior staff. Strong knowledge of SAGE, QuickBooks and CaseWare is preferred; there is a focus on client service and

Qualifications

• Approximately 3–5 years working in a public practice role.
• CPA designation.
• Great work ethic and ability to work in a team environment.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to interact professionally with both clients and colleagues.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• High attention to detail.

• Preparation of corporate or personal tax planning scenario calculations.
• Reviewing and preparing of Canadian personal tax returns – intermediate level files and above.
• Fulfills a variety of support and mentoring roles for clients and junior staff.
• Prepare/review GST and other statutory returns for clients as required.
• Assists with special projects as assigned by partners and senior managers
