Mak & Fong is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our growing public practice team in Richmond, BC. This full-time role handles assurance, tax, and accounting engagements for local businesses and professionals.

Lead client files, supervise junior staff, and apply Canadian and international standards (ASPE, IFRS, ASNFPO) while offering hands-on business advice.

Qualifications

  • CPA designation (or nearing completion).
  • 3+ years public practice experience.
  • Proficient in CanTax, QuickBooks Online, CaseWare, Excel, Word.
  • Knowledge of Canadian accounting standards and IFRS.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Comfortable with conversational Cantonese or Mandarin for some clients.

Responsibilities

  • Lead audit, review, and compilation engagements.
  • Prepare and review corporate, personal, and trust tax returns.
  • Oversee client bookkeeping and financial reporting using QuickBooks Online.
  • Ensure compliance with ASPE, IFRS, ASNFPO, and current tax laws.
  • Mentor junior accountants and act as main client contact.
  • Advise on cash flow, budgeting, and practice improvements.

Role Summary:
