We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented SeniorAccountant – Financial Reporting,to join our growing finance team in this newly created role. This position willplay a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, supportinginvestor relations, contributing to corporate finance initiatives, andmaintaining audit readiness. The ideal candidate is analytical, agile, eager tolearn, and driven to make a tangible impact at a growing company.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Month-End Close
·Assist in the preparation of quarterly andannual financial statements in accordance with IFRS, ensuring compliance withrelevant accounting standards, regulations, and company policies.
·Assist in the preparation of other continuousdisclosure documents such as the MD&A, Annual Information Form, AGMMaterials, and ESG, among others.
·Prepare working papers for key areas such asdebt, equity, corporate accruals, among others.
·Conduct accounting research and draft technical memoson new or complex transactions.
·Act as a key liaison with external auditorsduring annual audits and interim procedures.
·Perform ad hoc financial analyses and supportongoing process improvements.
Investor Relations Support
·Lead the preparation of investor communications,including updates, press releases, earnings presentations, and financial decks,in collaboration with cross-functional teams
·Maintain the investor relations section of thecompany website to ensure timely and accurate updates.
·Conduct peer benchmarking and industry analysisto support investor messaging, strategy alignment, and market positioning.
·Coordinate with marketing and communicationsteams on investor-facing social media content to ensure alignment withfinancial messaging and disclosure guidelines.
Cash Management & Expense Oversight
·Monitor daily cash positions and manage companybank accounts.
·Support banking relationships and ensure propercontrols over cash movements.
·Oversee employee expense reports for accuracy,proper coding, and policy compliance.
·Collaborate with HR and department managers on trainingand enforcement of expense policies.
Corporate Finance & Board Communications
·Assist in preparing monthly andquarterly financial packagesfor board meetings.
·Partner with senior management in preparingmaterials for investors, lenders, and strategic partners.
·Ensure board-level reporting is accurate,timely, and clearly presented.
Tax & Regulatory Compliance
·Assist with tax filings, including sales tax,corporate income tax, and payroll related filings (EHT, WCB, etc.)
·Respond to regulatory and government informationrequests as needed.
Qualifications & Experience
·Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; CPA designation (or CPA-eligible) strongly preferred.
·3+ years of experience in financial reporting,ideally in a public company or Big 4 firm.
·Strong understanding of IFRS and financial reportingrequirements.
·Proven experience working with external auditorsand preparing financial statements.
·Proficiency in ERP systemsand advanced Excel skills.
·Highly detail-oriented with strong analyticaland organizational skills.
·Effective communicator, with the ability topresent financial information clearly to stakeholders.
