Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a senior project accounting professional in Canada to lead the development and oversight of project accounting processes across multiple entities and currencies. You will prepare financial statements, present budget updates, and support audits while maintaining rigorous internal controls.

Excellent Excel skills and experience with Oracle Fusion, OneStream, and Power BI are highly valued. Bilingual French/English is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting
• CPA designation required
• Experience in a multi-entity, multi-project organization
• Experience managing multiple currencies is a plus
• Strong Excel and financial systems experience
• Bilingual French and English (written and spoken)

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement accounting processes related to project accounting
• Oversee and participate in all project accounting activities from opening to close of periods
• Make adjustments to reconcile with the general ledger
• Prepare financial statements for projects
• Present monthly budget updates to project managers
• Prepare quarterly financial presentations for senior management
• Supervise junior and team accountants as needed
• Collaborate with IT to automate and improve the project accounting module
• Prepare sections related to project accounting for audits
• Prepare information required by the tax team
• Establish and maintain internal controls
• Develop and maintain internal processes and monthly/quarterly reports
• Participate in special assignments as needed

Job description

• Develop and implement accounting processes related to project accounting
• Oversee and participate in all activities related to the project accounting module in the enterprise resource planning system, from the opening to the closing of accounting periods
• Make the necessary adjustments to ensure reconciliation with the general ledger
• Prepare financial statements for projects
• Present monthly budget updates to project managers
• Prepare quarterly financial presentations for senior management
• Supervise the work of junior accountants and team accountants as needed
• Participate in initiatives to continuously improve the project information centralization platform
• Monitor procurement activities and payments to ensure timely processing
• Coordinate the automation and efficiency improvements of the project accounting module in collaboration with the IT team
• Prepare the sections related to project accounting for audits
• Prepare the information required by the tax team
• Establish and maintain rigorous internal controls
• Develop, improve, and maintain internal processes as well as monthly and quarterly reports
• Participate in various special assignments as needed

Requirements
