Job summary

Mint Health + Drugs is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our Finance & Accounting team in Edmonton. You will manage financial analysis, reconciliations, and reporting, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.

The role involves month-end close, GST/PST filings, and collaborating with departments to deliver timely, reliable financial information for decision making and audits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
• Minimum 2 years of accounting experience is required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas) is required.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail required.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment required.

Responsibilities

• Manage system integrations into accounting systems ensuring completeness and accuracy of data
• Complete monthly journal entries, general ledger account reconciliations and investigate variances
• Maintain accuracy and completeness of general ledger ensuring compliance with accounting policies and standards
• Complete GST/PST returns and reconciliations and other compliance requirements
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting
• Support month-end and year-end closing processes and external audits
• Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve efficiency
• Support with cash management, budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis and ad hoc reporting as needed

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Senior Accountant tosupport our finance team in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will have experience with financial analysis, accounting processes, reconciliations, and reporting, along with a strong understanding of accounting principles and financial data management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage system integrations into accounting systems ensuring completeness and accuracy of data
