KPMG in Canada is seeking Senior Accountants for the Ottawa office within the Audit & Assurance practice. You will apply audit methodologies, conduct financial statement audits for private and public clients, and lead field teams while mentoring junior staff.

Qualifications

  • Accounting/business degree required.
  • CPA Canada PEP or other designation an asset.
  • 2+ years post graduate experience with a public accounting firm.
  • Excellent project management, teamwork and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, with little supervision and within a team environment.
  • Experience with ASPE and ASNPO, PCAOB, IFRS and/or US GAAP.
  • Effectively monitors multiple or complex projects regularly to check how they are progressing against deadlines and budget.
  • Excellent client service skills with an aptitude to understand the clients' business and maintain strong client relationships.

Our Ottawa office is hiring Senior Accountants for our Private Enterprise and Public Company practice. You can expect exposure to a variety of clients such as manufacturing, retail, construction, financial services, technology, healthcare and more.

What You Will Do
  • Apply KPMG's audit and accounting practices and methodologies at client engagements.

What You Bring To The Role
  • Accounting/business degree
  • Enrolment in the CPA Canada professional education program or holding another nationally recognized professional accounting designation an asset
  • 2+ years post graduate experience with a public accounting firm.
  • Excellent project management, teamwork and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently, with little supervision and within a team environment.
  • Experience with ASPE and ASNPO, PCAOB, IFRS and/or US GAAP.
  • Effectively monitors multiple or complex projects regularly to check how they are progressing against deadlines and budget.
  • Excellent client service skills with an aptitude to understand the clients' business and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Dedication and motivation to achieve high standards of client service and professional in the performance of duties.
  • Experience mentoring and delegating work to junior staff.
  • Previous experience and technical knowledge to the benefit of the client.
  • Able to use a range of techniques to analyze an issue.
KPMG Ontario Pay Range Information

The expected base salary range for this position is $60,000 to $88,500 and may be eligible for bonus awards. The determination of an applicant’s base salary within this range is based on the individual’s location, skills, & competencies, and unique qualifications. In addition, KPMG offers a comprehensive and competitive Total Rewards program.
