MAC distributes approximately $12 million annually in grants to Manitoba artists, collectives, and arts and cultural organizations, supporting a vibrant and diverse arts sector for the benefit of Manitobans.
The Manitoba Arts Council is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its 15-person staff team. The Senior Accountant is the sole finance position in the organization and as such is responsible for maintaining all financial records of the Council in a timely and efficient manner, adhering to internal controls. The Senior Accountant reports to the Executive Director, works collaboratively with the entire staff team, and liaises with the Board of Directors.

MAC’s Senior Accountant can work independently, making accounting decisions based on experience. They possess excellent organizational skills, are a quick learner, and can manage conflicting priorities while meeting deadlines. They have strong problem-solving skills and strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to convey financial information to a varied audience. They can maintain accurate and detailed work while upholding financial integrity and confidentiality in compliance with established rules and regulations.
This full-time position is exempt from Union membership and has a salary range of $79,270 to $92,782 per year. MAC participates in Manitoba’s Civil Service Superannuation Board (Pension Plan) and offers a comprehensive health benefits plan.
This position is based onsite at MAC’s office in Winnipeg. Regular working hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday. Occasional early evening work is required to attend Board and committee meetings.
