Job summary

Vaco by Highspring is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant for a 6-month contract with potential extension. The role offers a hybrid work arrangement with three days per week in downtown Calgary, supporting month-end close, financial reporting, and intercompany collaboration.

You will work with cross-functional and international finance teams, applying US GAAP/IFRS/ASPE knowledge and ERP experience to ensure accurate statements and strong internal controls.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge (US GAAP, IFRS or ASPE).
• Hands-on experience with a major ERP system (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle or JD Edwards).
• Proven month-end close, GL accounting, reconciliations and financial reporting experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

About You

• 3–5+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in a corporate accounting or public practice environment.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge, including US GAAP, IFRS or ASPE.
• Hands‑on experience with a major ERP system such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle or JD Edwards.
• Proven experience with month‑end close, general ledger accounting, reconciliations and financial reporting.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a collaborative approach.
• Experience in the SaaS, technology or professional services industries is an asset.
• Direct experience with NetSuite is an asset.
• Public accounting experience with exposure to technology or SaaS clients is an asset.
• Experience working within international or multi‑entity organizations is an asset.
