Overview:

The Senior Accountant will ensure financial records meet standards, analyze documents, record transactions, and produce payroll. Reports to the Director of Finance.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Use QuickBooks for accounting entries.
2. Monitor inventory and COGS monthly.
3. Produce inventory reports, BOM, WIP analysis, COGS.
4. Maintain and reconcile accounts.
5. Verify and post accounts payable/receivable.
6. Assist in preparing financial statements.
7. Generate accounting reports.
8. Maintain general ledger and reconcile entries.
9. Prepare financial summaries and statements.
10. Keep information confidential.
11. Enter monthly adjusting journal entries.
12. Handle intercompany transactions.
13. Manage GST/HST, WSIB, EHT reporting.
14. Maintain filing system.
15. Handle additional projects as assigned.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Knowledge of GAAP and accounting procedures.
• Financial statement familiarity.
• Advanced MS Excel skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Numerical aptitude.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines.
• Adaptability to a fast-paced environment.

Education/Experience:

• Minimum 3 years relevant experience, including 1 year in manufacturing.
• Experience with inventory management and QuickBooks Online.
• BSc or BComm in Accounting or related field.
• CPA qualification or working towards it is a plus.
• Experience with general ledger and month/year-end close.
• ERP implementation experience is an asset.
