The Role – Immediate Opportunity

We are looking to hire a Senior Accountant to take full ownership of our accounting and finance function. This is a critical role that will support our growing operations and pipeline.

You’ll be the go-to for all things accounting—working closely with the two owners and our property administrator. This is a one-person department to start, ideal for someone who thrives in a hands-on, fast-paced environment and is ready to grow with the business.

Key Responsibilities

General Accounting & Finance

• Manage full-cycle accounting: bookkeeping, entries, reconciliations, month/year-end close
• Prepare and analyze internal financial statements and reports
• Monitor and forecast cash flow and funding needs
• Process and allocate vendor payments via banking systems, cheques, credit cards
• Manage HST filings and ensure proper ITC claims
• Coordinate with external accountants for annual tax filings and tax planning
• Maintain clean, organized physical and digital financial records
• Research and recommend improvements to accounting systems and workflows
• Support decision-making with financial insights and process improvements
• Ensure proper recording of any investments made within Tibro
• Provide assistance on personal finance matters for the owners – organizing tax documents, preparing for filings, handling some personal bill payments, etc.

Property Accounting

• Track and allocate rental income, deposits, and other payments by unit
• Collaborate with operations and leasing to ensure financial accuracy at the unit level
• Appropriately categorize capital vs. operating expenses
• Prepare lender packages and assist with mortgage renewals and insurance tracking
• Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual operating statements for properties
• Handle government filings related to property compliance (e.g. HST, UHT)

Who You Are

• An experienced Senior Accountant who thrives in a hands-on role and is comfortable managing all accounting responsibilities solo
• Strong in full-cycle and property accounting, with attention to accuracy and detail
• Proficient with QuickBooks Online (QBO) and comfortable optimizing usage within a growing company
• Persistent and proactive, with the ability to problem-solve independently
• A strong communicator who works well with ownership and cross-functional team members
• Comfortable in a small, fast-paced, family-style environment where everyone wears multiple hats
• Ready and available to step in and contribute quickly as the company scales
• Salary Range 68-72k annually, depending on experience.
