Job summary

Accountant Staffing seeks a Senior Accountant to join a well-established organization in the Summerside, PE area. Reporting to the CFO, the role covers a broad range of accounting and financial operations beyond transactional duties.

The ideal candidate will become a true business partner, involved in financial analysis, costing, budgeting, and the operational side of the business to support growth and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within a manufacturing-type environment.
• Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or other related discipline.
• CPA designation or active progress toward CPA is preferred, although overall depth and experience will be considered.
• Strong general ledger and reconciliation experience.
• Experience with financial reporting and GAAP.
• Experience with ERP/accounting systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• The ability to work independently and take ownership.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and maintaining accurate financial records
• Account reconciliations, journal entries and accruals
• Supporting monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting
• Preparing corporate financial statements and management reporting packages
• Supporting budgeting and forecasting
• Performing variance and cost analysis
• Preparing government funding applications and grant claim reports
• Supporting external audits
• Assisting with tax filings and government reporting
• Supporting payroll, AP, AR and fixed asset accounting
• Participating in ERP system maintenance and process improvements
• Working collaboratively with other departments to support operational and financial objectives

Salary Range: $75,000 - $95,000 commensurate with experience.
