LeverageTek is actively seeking a Senior Accountant for a 6 to 9-month contract opportunity with its Ottawa-based customer.

Work Location

Remote

Key Tasks

• Perform general ledger reconciliations, including fixed assets, accrued liabilities, and intercompany accounts.
• Support general accounting cleanup, account reconciliations (many previously unperformed), month-end close, and resolve legacy issues.
• Identify and resolve data discrepancies to ensure accurate financial statements.
• Organize and maintain supporting financial records and documentation.
• Assist with the month-end close process and prepare journal entries.
• Analyze and correct accounting entries, understanding their impact on financial statements.
• Support SSC leadership with reporting and ad hoc financial tasks.
• Engage in detailed investigative work, reconstruct fixed asset listings from up to 10 years of data, and manage large data sets in Excel.

Key Qualifications

• Up to 7 years of experience in supporting complex general ledger reconciliations, focusing on fixed assets and key balance sheet accounts.
• Strong foundation in accounting principles and experience in dynamic, fast-changing environments.
• Experience supporting month-end close processes and preparing journal entries.

Qualifications

• Progressive accounting experience with strong reconciliation skills and GL expertise.
• Solid understanding of core accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Experience with ERP systems; Deltek Vision experience is an asset.
• CPA designation is a plus but not mandatory.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in ambiguous settings.
• Confidence working with senior management.
