Overview :

The candidate for this role is a motivated, extremely organized individual who uses their ability and takes the initiative to look at information through different perspectives. They will work with a region-specific team to review and simplify the month end close process and account reconciliation processes balancing efficiency against full and proper documentation. Work with management and operations to develop metrics and processes to drive superior reporting related to their role. Play a key role in the month end process from journal entries to in depth account analysis. With some knowledge of US and Canadian GAAP they provide suggestions to management to facilitate in simplifying and streamlining policies and procedures. This role will be key in the integration of acquired companies into our close workflow. Analyzing procedures and suggesting proper ownership and processes. The person in this role is a forward thinker, always thinking of what should be done next and if it can be done better than before.

Responsibilities :

Own all aspects of the accounting cycle for a comprehensive set of balance sheet accounts including the preparation of monthly journal entries and preparation of account reconciliations

Organize the workload and provide training for two junior general accountants based in India

Financial reporting and preparation of Management reporting packages

Act as the main point of contact for questions related to balance sheet accounts

Work closely with off-site accountants and business primes to investigate their requirements and be a conduit for the flow of information with Corporate

Maintain up-to-date policies and procedures and assist for process improvement

Provide year-end audit support

Requirements :

Bachelor's degree required

3+ years accounting experience

Strong understanding of accounting principles (IFRS – ASPE); Special consideration to applicant with IFRS and / or German / French Accounting experience

Knowledge of US or Canadian GAAP

Advanced Excel skills

Knowledge of SAP, Blackline and / or Business Intelligence

Strong computer skills - ability to learn several ERP systems and reporting tools quickly; ability to set up reports to accomplish assigned tasks

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written

Detail oriented and organized

Additional Preferred Skills :

Bilingual in English & German, French, Spanish, or Italian - highly preferred

Accounting Designation such as CPA

Previous supervisory or team lead experience
