Compensation: $65,000.00 to $80,000.00 yearly

Robert Half is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join a public accounting firm located in Ottawa. This is a full-time, permanent position on-site.

Responsibilities:

• Full cycle accounting
• Prepare financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements for various clients
• Manage monthly and quarterly financial close processes
• Prepare accurate journal entries
• Prepare and review working paper files, tax provisions, and returns
• Review general ledger activities for accuracy
• Prepare and review HST returns, payroll remittances, bank reconciliations
• Prepare and review personal and corporate income tax returns
• Develop and maintain client relationships
• Provide leadership and technical guidance on engagements
• Meet new clients, promote firm services, and support management activities

Job Requirements and Qualifications:

• Post-secondary education in Accounting
• Pursuing CPA designation
• At least 3 years of relevant work experience
• Experience with small to medium public accounting firms
• Proficiency in Excel, Sage Simply Accounting, QuickBooks, Taxprep, and Caseware
• Ability to handle demanding situations and solve problems
• Strong communication skills and client service orientation
• Comfortable promoting firm services and working both on-site and off-site
• Detail-oriented with the ability to meet tight deadlines
• Excellent team player
