Job summary

BinSentry, a fast-growing ag-tech company in KW, is seeking a Senior Accountant who thrives in a fast-paced environment and loves building scalable processes.

This hands-on role covers general ledger, month-end close, ASPE reporting, and audit coordination, with significant growth potential and cross-functional collaboration with Operations, Sales, and Development.

Ideal candidates have 3–5+ years' accounting experience and a CPA designation or progress, plus strong Excel and analytical skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 3–5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
  • CPA designation (or in progress).
  • Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs) is a must.
  • Strong analytical, detail-oriented, and deadline-driven.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee complex general ledger accounts, including deferred revenue, inventory, and COGS.
  • Prepare month-end close entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
  • Support ASPE-based monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and provide schedules for audits.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to scale accounting operations.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Sales, and Development.

The Role

BinSentry is seeking a Senior Accountant who thrives in an agile environment and is passionate about
building scalable processes. This is a hands-on role with significant growth potential, ideal for someone
who is ready to take ownership of key accounting functions and make an impact.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accounts & Allocations: Oversee complex general ledger accounts including deferred revenue,
    inventory, and COGS.
  • Month-End Close: Preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
  • Financial Reporting: Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial
    statements in accordance with ASPE.
  • Audit Management: Liase with external auditors, providing audit requests and supporting
    schedules to ensure a smooth and efficient audit process.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements to accounting processes, systems,
    and controls to enhance efficiency and accuracy as the company scales.
  • Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with other departments, including Operations, Sales, and
    Development.
What Success Looks Like

In your first year you will:

  • Accelerate the month-end close cycle, ensuring clean, accurate reconciliations and financial
    statements are completed predictably each month.
  • Establish strong working relationships across Operations, Sales, and Development to provide
    actionable accurate reporting and analysis, and operational alignment.
  • Optimize and document core accounting processes—to build scalable internal controls and
    processes as BinSentry grows.
Qualifications
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 3-5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
  • CPA designation (or in progress).
  • Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.) is a must.
  • Ability to demonstrate logic and analytical skills to identify and solve problems.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to perform under tight
    timelines with competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred

Experience with NetSuite is a plus.
