Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Prepare audit, review and compilation engagements.
  • Prepare personal and corporate tax returns.
  • Complete working papers, financial statements and supporting documentation.
  • Communicate directly with clients to obtain information and resolve issues.
  • Correspond with the CRA on behalf of clients when required.
  • Identify accounting and tax issues and bring them forward for resolution.
  • Review and provide guidance on the work of junior staff.

Senior Accountant

Leblanc Scott CPA is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join Leblanc Scott CPA public practice team in Fredericton. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional looking to build on their public-practice experience in a firm with a diverse client base and opportunities for long-term career growth. Our clients operate across a wide range of industries and businesses, providing our team with exposure to different accounting, tax and business environments.

Location: Fredericton, NB. Employment Type: Full-Time, In-Office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare audit, review and compilation engagements from start to completion
  • Prepare personal and corporate income tax returns
  • Complete working papers, financial statements and supporting documentation
  • Communicate directly with clients to obtain information, answer questions and resolve accounting issues
  • Correspond and communicate with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) on behalf of clients when required
  • Identify accounting and tax issues and bring them forward for resolution
  • Review and provide guidance on the work of junior and intermediate staff
  • Assist in meeting engagement deadlines and maintaining high-quality files
  • Develop a strong understanding of clients' businesses and accounting needs
  • Participate in a variety of engagements across different industries and business types

Qualifications & Experience:

  • 2 years or more of public-practice accounting experience preferred
  • CPA designation is considered an asset
  • Strong experience or familiarity with Caseware
  • Taxprep
  • QuickBooks
  • Sage
  • Experience preparing financial statements and working on audit, review and compilation engagements
  • Experience preparing personal and corporate tax returns
  • Strong understanding of Canadian accounting and taxation principles
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work
  • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with clients and colleagues
  • Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a team
  • Willingness and ability to provide guidance and supervision to less experienced staff
