Job summary

Erasing Edges | Talent Recruitment seeks a Senior Accountant to join its finance team in Canada. This hands-on role covers the general ledger, reconciliations, month-end close and financial reporting, supporting daily operations.

You will prepare journal entries, assist with budgeting and forecasting, support audits, and help improve internal controls while collaborating with operations and management.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of accounting experience
• Post secondary education in Accounting, Finance or related field
• CPA designation or working toward CPA is an asset
• Strong general ledger and financial reporting experience
• Good understanding of Canadian accounting principles
• Strong Excel and accounting system skills
• Construction or contracting experience is an asset
• Able to work independently and manage multiple priorities

Responsibilities

• Support month end and year end close

• Complete bank, credit card and balance sheet reconciliations
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable as needed
• Assist with cash flow, budgeting and forecasting
• Prepare GST and other required filings
• Support external audits and provide schedules and documentation
• Maintain fixed asset and capital expenditure records
• Help improve accounting processes and internal controls
• Work with operations and management on accounting and financial matters
• Support other accounting projects as needed

Job description

We are working with a growing construction company that is looking to add a Senior Accountant to its finance team.

This is a hands on accounting role with responsibility for general ledger, reconciliations, month end close, financial reporting and supporting the day to day financial operations of the business.
