Turn this role into an interview — a resume and cover letter built around what this employer wants.
Martyn Bassett Associates is hiring an Account Manager to win new business with technology and software companies across Canada and the US. This is an outbound role where you build the target list, make calls, write emails, and earn meetings.
You will own the client relationships from the start to the offer, negotiating on behalf of the client. You’ll identify companies worth pursuing, engage executives directly, and build referral networks to sustain growth across North America.
We headhunt the best people in the world for emerging tech and software companies building what comes next. We build the teams that drive revenue and customer acquisition: Marketing, Sales, and Product.
Our clients include some of the most innovative technology companies in Canada. Quartermaster, KEV Group, Workleap, and GSTS (Ociana), among others. We keep adding to that list, and increasingly outside Canada.
There's no secret. We hire recruiters who are good at this, we work with companies worth working for, and we get to the candidates nobody else can reach.
Demand from our client base keeps growing, so we're adding to the team. Here's what you get in return:
We're hiring an Account Manager to win new business with technology and software companies across Canada and the US.
This is an outbound role. Nobody is going to hand you a list of warm leads. You build the target list, you make the calls, you write the emails, and you earn the meeting. If cold outreach isn't something you're willing to do every day, this isn't your role.
What you'll actually do:
Identify the technology and software companies worth going after across North America. Get to the founder, CEO, or hiring executive directly. Sell consultatively, not by pitching a fee sheet.
Build referral networks that build your business. Every placement, every candidate conversation, every client meeting is a door to the next one.
Once a search is live, you own the client. Regular updates on progress. Honest reads on candidate quality. You present the shortlist and you defend it.
You'll run the recruitment team on your searches. Set the check-ins with researchers and recruiters, keep the project moving, and hold the standard.
You own the candidate experience through to offer, and you negotiate every offer on behalf of your client.
Proven experience selling and holding onto customers. B2B at the executive level is the obvious fit, but door to door or direct consumer sales counts just as much. If you've knocked on cold doors selling painting, windows, roofing, or anything else and made a living at it, you already know the hardest part of this job
Organized and disciplined about priorities, with real attention to detail.
Strong at building relationships, communicating, presenting, and negotiating, and genuinely curious. You ask more questions than you answer.
