Job summary

Walmart Canada in Alma, QC is seeking a Self-Checkout Attendant to support customer transactions at the self-checkout area and promote store programs. You will assist customers, monitor the checkout area, and help maintain a clean, organized environment in a fast-paced retail setting.

The role requires a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays, with physical tasks such as standing for long periods and occasional heavy lifting.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the self-checkout area meets standards, stays clean, safe and organized with no debris or extraneous displays.
• Promote Walmart programs and initiatives, including credit services, product protection plans, and charitable projects where applicable.
• Assist customers at self-checkout and help them use the self-checkout quickly and confidently, monitoring activity and performing required checks.
• Handle surveillance alerts and accurately complete the de-magnetization defects register as required.
• Scan and assist customers with payments; ensure portable scanners are returned to designated storage after use.
• Be flexible with shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed to support store operations.
• Manage heavy workloads in a dynamic environment and plan for night shifts and pace to maintain energy and focus.
• Perform physical tasks such as standing for long periods, bending and lifting merchandise up to 23 kg (50 lb) when required.
• Support restocking and product zoning activities with attention to detail and consistency to maintain store standards.
