Job summary

Wal-Mart Canada Corp is hiring a Self‑Checkout Attendant in Vaudreuil-Dorion, QC. You will assist customers at the self-checkout, keep the area clean and organized, and promote Walmart programs where applicable.

You will respond to EAS alarms, manage Scan & Go equipment, and adapt to a variety of shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays. This role emphasizes friendly, helpful service and efficient completion of transactions in a fast-paced retail environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain Self Checkout Area Standards – maintains a clean, safe, and organized self checkout area, ensuring it remains free of fixtures, unnecessary debris, foreign objects, and spills.
• Promote Walmart Programs and Initiatives – supports the promotion of company-sponsored programs, including credit card services, product protection plans, and charitable initiatives, when applicable.
• Support Customers at Self Checkout – helps customers use self checkout quickly and confidently by offering assistance when needed, monitoring activity, and completing required checks. Clearly explain interventions in a friendly, reassuring way and escalates cash or technical issues to the Customer Service Manager.
• Respond to EAS Alerts and Complete Documentation – Responds to EAS alarms in accordance with procedures and accurately completes the “Failure to Deactivate” log.
• Manage Scan & Go Equipment – ensures Scan & Go scanners are returned to their designated storage locations after use.
• Flexibility (Availability/Work Schedule) – be open to working a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on business needs. Your adaptability helps ensure the store runs smoothly and customers receive consistent, high‑quality service.
