Job summary

Evertz in Markham, Ontario is seeking a Security Software Developer to secure IP switch fabric and SDI router products. You will implement security features across C/C++ and Python/Bash, harden embedded Linux, and support CI/CD processes to meet NDcPP certification requirements.

You will analyze security standards, manage cryptography and certificates, and contribute to security documentation while maintaining tooling and CI infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity, or related field.
• 1-2 years of C/C++ development experience.
• 1-2 years of Python and Bash scripting experience.
• Ability to read security standards, protection profiles, or compliance documentation.
• Familiarity with TLS/SSL, x.509, authentication mechanisms, and cryptographic protocols.
• Basic Linux security management (firewall, hardening, permissions).
• Experience tracking CVEs or security advisories and applying patches.
• Experience with Jenkins or similar CI/CD tools.

Responsibilities

• Review and interpret NDcPP/Common Criteria requirements and translate into tasks.
• Implement and update product software to satisfy certification requirements (cryptography, authentication, auditing, access control).
• Harden embedded Linux environment and manage firewall rules and secure boot.
• Secure network management protocols (SSH, SNMPv3, syslog over TLS, HTTPS).
• Periodically upgrade embedded Linux OS and packages for security compliance.
• Address vulnerabilities via upstream patches or fixes.
• Contribute to CC Security Guides and Security Targets documentation.
• Develop Python/Bash utility scripts to support security workflows and testing.
• Maintain Jenkins CI infrastructure and build scripts as needed.
