Evertz Microsystems in Burlington, Ontario, is seeking a self-driven engineer to join a highly technical team building state-of-the-art technology for a fast-moving product. You will help select the right technologies and often build first implementations in ambiguous domains.

This senior, high-ownership role offers continuous learning, cross-team collaboration, and exposure to a range of technologies from industry-standard tools to emerging standards.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of Linux experience.
• 2+ years of MVC framework experience (Vue.js, React or Angular).
• 3+ years of JavaScript and Node.js experience.
• Strong self-direction and curiosity; comfortable learning with minimal guidance.
• Solid communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional work.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and push forward state-of-the-art technology as part of an advanced product.
• Work across languages and technologies, selecting the best tool for each problem with a technical team.
• Collaborate across teams, vendors, and disciplines to gather requirements and translate them into actionable plans.
• Translate loosely-defined problems from concept to finished implementation.
• Research and prototype solutions from academic or emerging standards where documentation is scarce.
• Contribute to architecture and technology decisions within a senior technical team.
