Job summary

Gateway Casinos & Entertainment Limited is seeking a Security Shift Manager in Williams Lake, BC. The role supports the Security Compliance Manager in staffing, operations, and regulatory adherence across the department.

You will oversee daily security operations, manage personnel, and ensure adherence to safety standards while maintaining strong relations with patrons and employees.

Qualifications

  • College diploma or equivalent with focus in Law and Security, Law and Justice, Criminology or related field.
  • Completion of a management-training program is preferred.
  • Managerial experience in gaming or related field of three (3) or more years is an asset.
  • First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Possess strong organizational, interpersonal, analytical, communication and managerial skills.

Responsibilities

  • Protect the assets of the corporation by monitoring all operations and gaming activities throughout the facility.
  • Oversee investigations of major occurrences such as minors gaining entry, criminal acts on company property, breaches of integrity and occurrences with significant liability risk.
  • Respond to escalated patron complaints, and major occurrences such as fire alarms, threats, and evacuations per policy and procedures.
  • Ensure files and records (e.g., key logs, visitor passes) are accounted for per Security Department policies.
  • Monitor training strategies for staff and ensure technical training, internal customer service training and succession planning.
  • Responsible for department scheduling, time-off management, payroll reconciliation and attendance; assist in budgeting and monitoring expenses.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment and ensure safety procedures and equipment usage.

Salary: $55,281.00

This position assists the Security Compliance Manager in the management of Security department and personnel, in compliance with the Provincial Gaming Commission, and other applicable municipal, provincial and federal laws and regulations. The role assists in maintaining good public relations with patrons and employees. It requires compliance with safety and security standards of the corporation while orientating staff to operations and complying with pre-determined internal control procedures. The Security Shift Manager is responsible for the administration and day-to-day management of security staff and operation of the department

Key Responsibilities
  • Protect the assets of the corporation by monitoring all operations and gaming activities throughout the facility.

  • Respond to escalated patron complaints, and major occurrences such as: fire alarms, threats, and evacuation procedures strictly adhering to the policies and procedures outlined in the Departmental or Internal Control Manual.
  • Ensures files and records (ie: key logs, visitor passes) are accounted for in accordance to Security Department policies.
  • Monitors training strategies for staff, ensuring technical training, internal customer service training and succession planning are provided
  • Responsible for department scheduling, administration of time off requests, payroll reconciliation and attendance management. Assist the Department Manager with the administration of the departmental budget by monitoring use of overtime, tracking of scheduled hours, managing operating expenses, etc.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment. Ensure staff comply with safety procedures including use of required safety equipment, proper lifting techniques and identify unsafe practices or conditions
What You Bring
  • College diploma or equivalent with focus in Law and Security, Law and Justice, Criminology or a related field.
