Job summary

GDI Ainsworth is seeking a Security Installer/Technician to lead installation and service of CCTV, access control, intercom, RTLS and intruder alarm systems in commercial, government and healthcare settings. You will work within a team to deliver high quality, standards-compliant solutions.

The role requires 2–5 years in electronic security, strong fault diagnosis, and excellent customer communication. Edmonton-based, on-site position with opportunities to grow with a multi-trade company.

Qualifications

• Experience with CCTV, Access Control, Door Entry and Intruder Alarm Systems and Nurse call System
• Minimum 2-5 years’ experience working within the Electronic Security Systems industry
• Knowledge and experience of Systems Networking and IP Configuration
• Must be capable of obtaining a Federal Level II Security Clearance
• Proficiency in Excel and Word
• Staying current on the entire line of security solutions provided by Ainsworth (i.e. AMAG, Avigilon, Genetec, ICT, RS2, Salient, etc..)

Responsibilities

• The Security Installer /Technician will deliver projects for the complete installation and ongoing servicing of medium to large scale access control, CCTV, intercom, RTLS and intruder alarm systems in commercial, government and health care environments
• Demonstrate passion for the trade, strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Maintain excellent customer communication and be a team player with a can-do attitude
• Ensure compliance with CANASA and security industry standards
• Manage work effectively and reflect the company’s vision and values
• Adapt to new technologies and assist with pre-booked preventative visits when required
• Provide fault diagnosis on complex systems and assist the installation team on projects

Job Summary:

The Security Installer /Technician primary responsibilities will be to deliver project for the complete installation and continued servicing of medium and large, access control, CCTV systems, intercom, RTLS, and intruder alarm in commercial, government, health care environments, to company and industry standards.

• Have a good knowledge of CANASA and security industry Standards.
• You should be able to manage your work and exhibit the company’s vision and values.
• You must have experience working in a similar role in the security industry.
• Multi-disciplined in the security industry from service, small works, fault-finding and maintenance, and having installation knowledge.
• Hold a Full Clean Driving License - Essential for this post.
• Must have the ability to adapt to new technologies.
• Depending on experience, the person will be expected to deal with pre-booked preventative visits on small or large systems.
• Must have excellent fault diagnosis skills, including working on more complex systems, and occasions will assist with the installation team on similar projects.
