About the Role

The Developer Security team safeguards Coinbase’s software supply chain by developing systems for artifact scanning, dependency analysis, and tooling to secure the development lifecycle. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will build secure, scalable solutions to protect Coinbase’s infrastructure, collaborating across teams to embed security into the developer experience and stay ahead of security challenges.

Responsibilities

1. Build new services to meet product and business needs using Golang.
2. Design scalable systems with modern cloud technology and best practices.
3. Plan and articulate long-term strategies for maintaining and scaling backend systems.
4. Collaborate with engineers, designers, product managers, and leadership to develop quarterly roadmaps.
5. Write high-quality, well-tested code to serve customer needs.

Candidate Requirements

1. Minimum 5 years of software engineering experience.
2. Experience designing, building, and maintaining production services with service-oriented architecture.
3. Proficiency in writing high-quality, tested code.
4. Passion for building an open financial system that unites the world.

Nice to Have

1. Experience with rapid company growth (startup to mid-size).
2. Experience with security initiatives like SLSA or tools like Artifactory/X-ray.
3. Knowledge of Golang, Docker, Kubernetes, Postgres, MongoDB, React, gRPC.
4. Experience building high-reliability security systems for financial applications.

Compensation

The target annual salary is $185,500 CAD, including bonus, equity, and benefits such as medical, dental, and vision.
