Job summary

Commissionaires Great Lakes is seeking a Commissionaire to join our security team across sites in Ontario, including Niagara Falls, St. Catharines, Welland and Beamsville.

The role emphasizes access control, CCTV monitoring, and responsive security presence to protect client property. Applicants must hold a valid Ontario Security Guard License, WSIB First Aid/CPR, and be able to obtain Reliability (Level I) clearance.

Qualifications

• Must have Valid Ontario Security Guard License.
• Must have WSIB-accredited First Aid and CPR certificate.
• Must obtain Reliability (Level I) security clearance (resident in Canada 5 years or longer, clean criminal record, clean credit history).

Responsibilities

• Ensure access control policies are followed and client property is secured.
• Monitor CCTV cameras.
• Maintain positive attitude and professional working relationships with employees, visitors and clients.
• Complete site reporting requirements, daily logs and written reports.
• Maintain high standards of personal appearance and deportment.
• Maintain effective communication.
• Respond to alarms and calls for assistance.
• Provide assistance to employees, clients and visitors.
• Regular interior and exterior foot patrols.
• Other duties as may be required by the client or site supervisor.

INTRODUCTION:

Commissionaires Great Lakes (CGL) is a private, not-for-profit organization founded in 1925 on a mandate that prioritizes providing meaningful employment for veterans and others committed to the well-being of Canadians primarily in security guard and related services. Spanning Central and Southwestern Ontario, our services are customized to respond to the dynamic and evolving security needs of both private and public sector clients. These include uniformed guard, mobile response and support services, by-law enforcement and identification services.

We are currently seeking a Commissionaire to join our growing team. This posting is for an existing vacancy.

WHAT OUR EXCEPTIONAL COMMISSIONAIRES ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

• Ensure access control policies and procedures are followed and client property is secured
