Job summary

Securitas Canada Limited is one of Canada's leading security providers, with extensive operations across sectors. We seek a Security Officer to help de-escalate situations, escort medical staff, monitor CCTV, and respond to emergencies on-site in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities include access control, patrolling, and ensuring safety at all times, with shifts including days, afternoons, overnights, and weekends. Ontario license and CPR/First Aid are required.

Qualifications

• Valid Ontario Security License is required.
• First Aid and CPR certification is required; Red Cross preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of security experience in large-scale operations.

Responsibilities

• De-escalate tense situations using verbal techniques to reduce risk.
• Escort medical staff when required.
• Respond to medical emergencies and provide CPR/AED if needed.
• Control access by unlocking/locking doors for authorized persons.
• Operate gatehouse gates and screen visitors/ drivers.
• Inspect trailers to ensure doors are locked and sealed.
• Support mobile operations with security protocols at key locations.
• Follow breach procedures and notify appropriate personnel.
• Monitor CCTV and coordinate dispatch including emergencies.
• Perform foot patrols inside and outside the facility.

Position Overview

Wages: $18.57/hour - $21.02/hour

Shift timings: Varies (Days, Afternoons, Overnights, Weekends)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• De-escalate tense situations by verbal communication using a variety of techniques designed to reduce risk.

• Escort medical staff including paramedics, police and firefighters when required.

• Respond to medical emergencies and be prepared to perform CPR and AED if needed.

• Unlock and lock doors for access by authorized persons. Denying entry to anyone without authorization.

• Operate gates at gatehouse locations, screening all visitors and truck drivers.

• Inspect trailers ensuring trailer doors are locked and sealed before the truck leaves.

• Assist mobile operations teams with security protocols and enhance security at strategic locations.

• Follow security breach procedures by notifying supervisors or other appropriate personnel when security breaches occur.

• Monitor CCTV footage and cameras for irregularities and perform dispatch duties for the site including emergency response.

• Perform foot patrols inside and outside the facility.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Valid Ontario Security License

• Valid First Aid and CPR Certificate. Red Cross certification is preferred.

• 1 years of security experience minimum within large scale security operations is preferred

• Thorough understanding of security protocols and procedures including emergency response

• G class drivers' license is required

• Your own vehicle is preferred

• Customer service experience is a strong asset
