Job summary

Paladin Security Group in Saskatoon is seeking a Security Guard to act as a protective and customer‑facing presence in dynamic retail environments. You will patrol, monitor cameras and alarms, and respond calmly to emergencies while delivering friendly, professional service.

This role requires physical stamina to walk long distances, flexibility for day/evening/night shifts, and valid authorization to work in Canada.

Qualifications

• Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
• Ability to walk 20–30 kilometers per shift and climb stairs.
• Flexibility to work days, evenings, nights, and weekends.
• Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
• Ability to stay composed and make quick decisions during emergencies with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality customer service to the public and site visitors.
• Conduct regular patrols walking up to 20–30 kilometers per shift.
• Monitor visitors, alarm systems, and security camera feeds.
• Use two-way radios and log reports.
• De-escalate tense situations with clear, calm communication.
• Address trespassers or policy breaches professionally.
• Respond to security alarms and medical calls with basic first aid when required.
• Liaise with emergency services including police, fire, and paramedics.
• Write daily activity, incident, and liability reports.

Compensation and Benefits

Pay Rate: $16.00 - $17.50 per hour

What Success Looks Like

Success in this role means balancing proactive security vigilance with warm, approachable customer service. You will act as the primary point of contact for safety, handling everything from routine patrols to unexpected emergency situations with composure and care.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

Deliver high-quality customer service to the public, and site visitors.

Conduct regular, proactive foot patrols throughout the property, including navigating stairwells and covering significant walking distances (up to 20-30 km per shift).

Monitor visitors, alarm systems, and security camera feeds in accordance with site policies.

Use two-way radios and software applications to communicate site activities and log reports.

De-escalate dynamic or tense situations using clear, calm communication.

Exercise crowd control and address trespassers or policy breaches in a firm, professional manner.

Respond promptly to security alarms and medical calls, providing basic first aid when required.

Liaise with emergency services, including police, fire, and paramedic personnel.

Write clear, detailed, and objective daily activity, incident, and liability reports.

What You Bring

Must-Have Qualifications:

Legal authorization to work in Canada.

Physical stamina to walk 20 to 30 kilometers and climb stairs regularly throughout your shift.

Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, nights, and weekends.

Strong verbal and written English communication skills.

Proven ability to stay composed and make quick, sound decisions during high-stress or emergency situations with minimal supervision.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

Valid Saskatchewan Security Guard License (or willingness to complete required training).

Valid First Aid and CPR certification.

Prior experience in retail security, customer service, hospitality, or public-facing roles.
