Job summary

Commissionaires Great Lakes is seeking a dedicated Commissionaire to join our team in Gravenhurst, Ontario. You will protect client sites, escort contractors, and maintain professionalism in all interactions while performing outdoor patrols and daily reporting.

The role requires a valid Ontario Security Guard License, First Aid/CPR, and citizenship/residency for security clearance. English fluency is essential, with French as an asset, and availability for full-time hours.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Ontario Security Guard License.
• WSIB First Aid and CPR certification required.
• Ability to obtain a Reliability (Level I) Security Clearance (5 years Canadian residency).
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather and stand/walk long periods.
• Fluent English; French is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Escort contractors as required.
• Observe contractor tools and vehicles to keep them away from inmates.
• Ensure contractors adhere to regulations.
• Maintain professional relationships with staff, visitors and clients.
• Complete daily logs and reports as necessary.
• Conduct interior and exterior patrols; duties mainly outdoors.
• Perform other duties as required by the client or site supervisor.

INTRODUCTION

Commissionaires Great Lakes (CGL) is a private, not-for-profit organization founded in 1925 on a mandate that prioritizes providing meaningful employment for veterans and others committed to the well being of Canadians primarily in security guard and related services. Spanning Central and Southwestern Ontario, our services are customized to respond to the dynamic and evolving security needs of both private and public sector clients. These include uniformed guard, mobile response and support services, by-law enforcement and identification services.

We are currently seeking a Commissionaire to join our growing team. This posting is for an existing vacancy.

WHAT OUR EXCEPTIONAL COMMISSIONAIRES ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR

• Responsibilities of this role may include, but are not limited to:
  • Escorting contractors as required
    
  • Observe contactor tools and vehicles to make sure they are kept safely away from the inmates
    
  • Ensuring contractors adhere to the regulations
    
  • Maintain positive attitude and professional working relationships with employees, visitors and clients
    
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and deportment.
    
  • Provide assistance to employees, clients and visitors
    
  • Complete daily logs and written reports as necessary
    
  • Conduct interior and exterior patrols of the property
    
  • Job duties primarily take place outdoors
    
  • Other duties as may be required by the client or site supervisor

• *MUST*Comfortable wearing PPE specified by client such as hard hat and safety boots
  
• Ability to stand/walk for long periods of time
  
• Ability to complete frequent patrols
  
• Ability to work outdoors regardless of weather conditions
  
• Ability to speak/read/communicate in English (fluently), ability to speak French is consider an asset
