Position: Casual Security Guard 2

Location: 1001 Queen Street West

CAMH is seeking one Casual Security Guard 2 to join the Security Services department. This role offers an excellent opportunity for those starting a career in law enforcement, with above-average salary, benefits, and potential for full-time placement.

Reporting to the Supervisor of Security Services, responsibilities include:

• Providing security and assistance to patients, visitors, staff, and volunteers
• Ensuring safety, reporting emergencies, patrolling premises
• Completing reports, incident investigations, liaising with emergency responders, removing unauthorized persons

The position involves shift rotation (day, evening, night) and weekend work, requiring minimum availability. All security and safety procedures must be maintained, with a focus on protecting life and property.

Minimum Requirements:

• Valid PSIS Security Guard License
• Two years of community college education in law enforcement or in progress
• 6 months to 1 year of security experience and First Aid/CPR certification
• Healthcare experience is an asset

Candidate Qualities:

Effective communication, tactful interaction with the public and staff, positive service orientation, sensitivity towards mental health and addictions clients, ability to work independently, problem-solve, and exercise good judgment. Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, Outlook) and physical capability are required. Bilingualism (French/English) or additional languages are assets.
