Join to apply for the Security Guard 2 - Security Services role at CAMH

Security Services currently has one (1) Full-time Regular vacancy as Security Guard 2. The position is available only to Security Guards within the Security Services Department.

Reporting to the Supervisor of Security Services, the successful candidate will provide security services and assistance to CAMH patients, visitors, staff, and volunteers to promote a safe environment. Responsibilities include responding to emergencies, patrolling hospital buildings and grounds, completing reports, ensuring safety procedures are followed, protecting life and property, conducting incident investigations, liaising with emergency responders, and removing unauthorized persons. The role supports a workplace that values diversity, teamwork, and effective communication, complying with all regulatory and legislative requirements. This position involves shift rotation (day, evening, and night) and weekend work, with required minimum availability. Location: 1001 Queen Street West.

Job Requirements:

• A valid PSIS Security Guard License is required.
• 2 years of Community College education in law enforcement or in progress.
• 6 months to 1 year of security experience and First Aid/CPR certification.
• Healthcare experience is an asset.
• Ability to interact tactfully and effectively with the public, staff, and patients.
• Motivated team player with a positive, service-oriented approach.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with sensitivity towards mental health and addictions clients.
• Ability to work independently, problem-solve, and exercise good judgment.
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, Outlook).
• Physical ability to perform job duties.

• Bilingual (French/English) or proficiency in a second language is an asset.
