Job summary

Akamai's Government Services team delivers secure web acceleration and security solutions for US and Canadian agencies. The Security Consultant II role serves as the main contact for security services, guiding customers to effectively use Akamai's security products while ensuring seamless integration and successful outcomes.

We partner with sales to understand client needs, contribute to best practices, and drive continuous improvement in service delivery.

Qualifications

• 5 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Canadian government clearance.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, TLS/SSL and how CDNs work.
• Customer-facing experience in a consultative environment.
• Interest in or possession of cyber security credentials such as Security+, SSCP, GSEC.
• Knowledge of project management concepts and techniques.
• Knowledge of implementation concepts in web development, IT systems or security practices.

As a Security Consultant II, serve as the main contact for security services, ensuring seamless integration and support for customers. Provide expert guidance in a dynamic field, implementing innovative solutions that help customers utilize Akamai's security products effectively to meet objectives.

As a Security Consultant, you will be responsible for:

• Collaborating with cross-disciplinary teams to understand customer use cases and tuning solutions to meet client needs
• Partnering with sales teams internally to fully understand customer business needs in order to ensure their success
• Participating on internal projects to contribute to best practices, improving our methodology and quality of solution delivery
• Participating in training and projects contributing to best practices, maximizing efficiency, and improving methodology and service quality

To be successful in this role you will:

Compensation

Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The base salary for this position ranges from 92,900 - 167,100 CAD/year; a candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
