Job summary

Akamai's Cloud Data Services team designs, builds, and operates high-reliability, high-scale data services and pipelines powering core Akamai platform capabilities. The Senior II Software Engineer will own backend data services end-to-end, scale microservices, and collaborate with DBA and SRE partners to ensure performance and reliability across regions.

• 8 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field, or its equivalent.
• Experience in Python, Java, or Go with production-grade backend code.
• Deep knowledge of PostgreSQL and relational databases including schema design and high-availability configurations.
• Experience designing, building, and scaling microservices architectures in production.
• Solid grounding in DBA tasks, data structures, algorithms, and complexity analysis.
• Be knowledgeable in RESTful APIs, containerization, orchestration, CI/CD pipelines, and major cloud platforms.

As a Senior II Software Engineer, you will be responsible for:

Compensation

Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The base salary for this position ranges from 120,400 - 216,600 CAD/year; a candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
