The Federal Bridge Corporation Limited (FBCL) is a Crown corporation responsible for overseeing the Canadian federal interests in four international bridge crossings between Canada and the United States. Its mandate is to provide the highest level of stewardship so that the international bridges and associated structures are safe and efficient for users. FBCL owns, manages and operates international bridges and associated structures in Sault Ste. Marie, Point Edward, Lansdowne (Thousand Islands) and Cornwall, Ontario.

This shift work position provides surveillance & administrative analysis to maintain a safe and secure environment by video monitoring the premises, bridge operations, security and access control systems. The role is :

  • Accountable to monitor and respond as the central point of contact for multiple physical security systems at the multiple locations, including security access control system, intrusion detection systems, and an array of closed circuit television cameras;
  • Monitor internal and external radio transmissions and communicate with proper radio etiquette.

Qualifications Required :

  • Related diploma (2 years) and / or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
  • Minimum of 2 years’ of leadership experience and 2 years’ security related experience;
  • Prior experience in crisis response and management;
  • Excellent grasp of MS Office;
  • Prior experience with physical security software;
  • Ability to interact effectively at various professional levels and across diverse cultures;
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks at the same time in a fast paced environment;
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude and high motivation level focused on success;
  • Proven ability to maintain a professional and calm demeanor, even under high pressure / stress;
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time (the entire shift) without becoming distracted or complacent;
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical and troubleshooting skills;
  • Capacity to adapt to new situations and settings and to tolerate change well;
  • Ability to obtain and maintain secret security clearance required;
  • Ability to speak, read and write in English. Preference to candidates that can speak, read and write French and English.
