Job summary

Randstad Canada’s Wealth Management division seeks a Tax Operations Analyst to support Canadian tax reporting, withholding and remittance for custody platforms (Trust, BANCS, Gplus, Milvus). The role helps minimize financial risk by ensuring CRA and Revenue Quebec compliance.

Must have a university degree in accounting/finance or equivalent experience, 2+ years in securities/custody, knowledge of Global and Canadian tax reclaim filing, and the Canadian Securities Course.

Responsibilities

  • Minimize financial/reputational risk by ensuring remittances & reconciliations are current with all tax authorities.
  • Follow operating procedures to ensure accuracy and timeliness of tax reclaims and relief at source filings.
  • Ensure reporting and reconciliations are complete and assist clients with reconciliations.
  • Ensure tax reclaims are completed on timely basis before SLA deadlines.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive operating procedures for tax withholdings and remittances.

Job description

The Tax Operations Analyst is responsible for assisting with all activities related to Canadian tax reporting, tax withholding and tax remittance to the CRA and Revenue Quebec for all custody platforms (Trust, BANCS, Gplus, Milvus). Minimizing financial risk by ensuring compliance with CRA and Revenue Quebec reporting and remittance rules and internal policies and procedures.

What will you do?

  • Minimize financial/reputational risk by ensuring remittances & reconciliations are current with all tax authorities.
  • Following operating procedures to ensure the accuracy, timeliness and completeness of tax reclaims, and relief at source filings for Global and Canadian withholding taxes.
  • Ensure that all reporting and reconciliations ensure completeness of outstanding reclaims and assist clients’ with their reconciliations.
  • Ensure all tax reclaims are completed on timely basis before client SLA deadlines.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to enhance service for our clients by ensuring best practices are identified and applied. Focus on creating an environment of continuous improvement that assesses workflow, processes and procedures on an ongoing basis, ensuring maximum efficiency and quality.
  • Ensure desk operating procedures are fully documented and current at all times.
  • Ensure internal macros needed for certain reporting is tested and maintained properly.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive operating procedures that ensure the accuracy, timeliness and completeness of tax withholdings, remittances, client reporting and associated regulatory filings.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have:

  • University degree with accounting/finance concentration or equivalent work experience.
  • 2+ years securities/custody industry experience, knowledge of international markets, securities operations and related tax requirements.
  • In-depth knowledge of both Global and Canadian tax reclaim filing.
  • In-depth system knowledge of custody platforms.
  • Canadian Securities Course.
  • Ability to stay current with industry trends and evaluate impact on withholding and reporting.

Compensation for this position (including salary and discretionary/variable payments) will be determined by factors, including but not limited to candidate's experience, skills, registration status, performance, individual goals, market conditions, and business needs.

Pay Range

The expected pay range for this position is:

$55,000.00 - $90,000.00
