The District is embarking on an ambitious plan in the years ahead to improve the quality of life for our community, with one of our key focus areas being the mobility and transportation needs of those that live, work, study and play here in supporting our Official Community Plan goals.
We have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic leader as the Section Manager, Transportation. Reporting to the Manager, Engineering Services, this role is responsible for oversight and delivery of District transportation initiatives, leading a team of technical and professional staff in the planning, development, design and implementation of transportation strategies, policies and plans that support capital and asset management planning for the District. You will provide subject matter expertise and leadership while overseeing planning, feasibility, public engagement, policy, and design development of transportation initiatives of local, neighbourhood and regional significance, that includes active transportation network expansion, transit expansion and supportive infrastructure, traffic calming, road safety and other measures that align with the District’s transportation vision.
You have a degree in Civil Engineering plus a minimum of seven years’ progressive experience in a transportation and mobility planning and design, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Municipal, transportation agency, highway agency or major transit project delivery is an asset. A valid Driver’s Licence is required.
Hours of Work: 35-hour work week (Compressed work schedule available)
