Job summary

Interior Health is hiring a relief full-time Section Head for Acute Care Occupational Therapy Services at Penticton Regional Hospital. This role blends leadership (50%) with hands-on clinical coverage (50%), guiding daily operations, staffing, and quality initiatives while delivering patient-centered OT care within the clinical team.

The position runs Monday to Friday, 07:30-15:30, with a comprehensive benefits package, relocation support, four weeks of vacation, and opportunities for education

Qualifications

  • Graduation from a recognized Occupational Therapy program.
  • Current full practicing license with CHCPBC.
  • Four (4) years' recent clinical practice including at least two (2) years in Supervisory/Management roles in Allied Health.
  • Valid BC Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations, staffing and workflow coordination.
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives and provide mentorship to OT staff and Rehab Assistants.
  • Provide acute care caseload coverage as part of the clinical team.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary colleagues and practice leaders to advance OT services.
  • Supervise and support team members to meet evolving organizational needs.

Position Summary

We are hiring for a relief full-time Section Head Acute Care - Occupational Therapy Services at the Penticton Regional Hospital. This position is temporary until October 2027 or the return of the current incumbent. This is a great opportunity for an experienced Occupational Therapist to combine leadership and clinical practice in a 50% supervisory and 50% clinical coverage role.

About the role:

As the Section Head for Acute Care Occupational Therapy Services, you will oversee daily operations, staffing, workflow coordination, quality improvement initiatives, and provide mentorship and clinical support to the team of OT’s and Rehab Assistants. At the same time, you will provide acute care caseload coverage, delivering patient-centered Occupational Therapy services as part of the clinical team. Working collaboratively with interdisciplinary colleagues and professional practice leaders, you will champion best practices, supervise and support team members, and help advance Occupational Therapy services to meet the evolving needs of patients and the organization.

Qualfications

  • Graduation from a recognized Occupational Therapy program.
  • Current full practicing licensee with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC (CHCPBC).
  • Four (4) years\' recent related clinical practice experience including a minimum of two (2) years’ Supervisory or Management experience in the assigned Allied Health field; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Valid BC Driver’s License.
