Job summary

Fairmont Château Laurier in Ottawa is seeking a Second Cook (Part Time) to join our culinary team. Reporting to the Culinary Leadership Team, you will prepare, cook and present items for a la carte and buffet service while maintaining high standards of quality and sanitation.

The successful candidate will have culinary experience, strong teamwork, and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced setting. Compensation includes a full rate of pay of $26.75/hour and related benefits.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in the culinary field required.
• Journeyman’s papers or international equivalent an asset.
• Diploma/Certification in a Culinary discipline an asset.
• Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities.
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment.
• Ability to work cohesively as part of a team.
• Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times.
• Ensure quality standards and safety standards are met.
• Prepare all mise-en-place for different areas of the kitchen.

Job Description
