Job summary

Fairmont Château Laurier in Ottawa is seeking a part-time Server to deliver outstanding guest experiences in a landmark setting. You will be responsible for courteous, knowledgeable service and maintaining high standards across all beverage and menu knowledge.

Fluency in both official languages and Smart Serve certification are required. The role includes a competitive pay rate of $18.80 CAD per hour, with benefits and growth opportunities within Accor.

Qualifications

• Previous customer service experience required.
• 1-2 years server experience in a similar environment.
• Previous point of sale system experience an asset, but not required
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Fluent in both official languages required
• Smart Serve Certification required
• Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
• Highly responsible and reliable
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
• Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team
• Passing grade on the written recruitment server exam

Job Description

Reporting to the Food & Beverage Leadership, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

• Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service
• Assist guests regarding menu items in an informative and helpful way
• Follow outlet policies, procedures and service standards
• Have full knowledge of beverage lists and promotions
• Have full knowledge of all menu items, garnishes, contents and preparation methods
• Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage
• Other duties as assigned
