Job summary

Browns Socialhouse is seeking a Cook 2 to join our Delta, Canada kitchen. You will work under the Sous Chef and Head Chef, preparing meats, seafood, vegetables, sauces, stocks and breads while following Browns standards.

Ideal candidates bring 1–3 years in a professional kitchen, a Level 1 Food Safe certificate, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. You’ll thrive in a fast-paced team and contribute to consistent guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare a variety of foods according to kitchen protocol and Browns recipes.
  • Set up the station with par stocks and prep the dishes for the shift.
  • Maintain hygiene, sanitation and organization in the kitchen.
  • Assist in temperature checks, labeling, and stock management.
  • Work as part of a team to meet service demands during peak times.
  • Follow safety procedures and train effectively in one station.

Job description

Role Summary

The role of Cook 2 reports directly to the Sous Chef and Head Chef. The role of cook 2 prepares a variety of food products including meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, sauces, stock, breads and other food products using a variety of equipment and utensils according to kitchen protocol and standards.

Key Accountabilities
  1. Ensures that meals are prepared in a timely manner in accordance with Brown’s recipes..

  2. Cooks and prepares food as listed in the daily prep sheet, indicates levels on hand and amounts required to prep.

  3. Sets-up the station with par stocks of menu items, and prepares the dishes designated for the assigned station.

  4. Assists in daily and weekly procedures, including temperature checks, labels/dates,, organizes freezer, fridge and dry storage area.

  5. Cleans and organizes the kitchen at all times. Follows all required checklists and cleaning schedules during and following his/her shift.

  6. Maintains high levels of hygiene, cleanliness, organization, and sanitation of the kitchen.

  7. Maintains a positive attitude that promotes teamwork within the restaurant.

  8. Performs other duties as assigned and directed by the Sous Chef and Head Chef.

  9. Handles the 1 station assigned efficiently and accurately during peak periods and is able to prepare items according to Browns specifications. Able to train effectively in 1 station.

  10. Engages with co-workers in a positive, professional and fun manner.

Required Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Level 1 Food safe.

  • Minimum 1-3 year in a professional kitchen.

  • Must be eligible to work in Canada.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Passion for fresh ingredients and producing great food every day.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both written and oral.

  • Customer service skills – able to exceed guest expectations.

  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
