Job summary

The Town of Conception Bay South is seeking a unionized heavy equipment operator for a temporary full-time role, 40 hours per week. The successful candidate will operate equipment as directed by Public Works Supervisors and maintain safety and compliance.

Candidates must have NL-endorsed equipment operation training, a Class 3 license with Class 8 and a current Class 9 Air Brake endorsement, and at least five years of heavy equipment experience; education may substitute for experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a recognized educational program accredited by the province of Newfoundland and Labrador for equipment operation.
• Must possess a minimum of Class 3 with a Class 8 and current Class 9 Air Brake endorsement.
• Minimum of five (5) years' experience in the operation of heavy equipment is required.
• Any combination of education and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment in accordance with the Public Works Supervisors' directions.
• Maintain equipment in safe operating condition and comply with safety regulations.
