Job description

Seasonal Water Truck Driver

We are seeking a dependable and safety-conscious Seasonal Water Truck Driver to support dust suppression and site cleaning operations at facilities, materials sites, and construction sites. The successful candidate will operate a water truck to control dust, clean site surfaces, and assist with general site maintenance.

Vacancy Type: Replacement

Location: Ottawa, ON

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Operate a water truck for dust suppression, flushing, road wetting, and general site cleaning
• Safely fill and refill the water truck from approved water sources
• Operate a manual transmission vehicle would be a benefit.
• Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections and complete required documentation
• Maintain safe driving practices in active work zones and around pedestrians and equipment
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, truck foreman, dispatch and site staff
• Monitor water usage and manage time efficiently to meet daily operational needs
• Report mechanical issues, safety concerns, or operational delays promptly

REQUIREMENTS:

• Valid Ontario DZ Driver’s Licence (required), AZ Driver's Licence an asset
• Experience operating manual transmission trucks
• Demonstrated ability to safely operate and fill a water truck
• Knowledge of city roads and routes is required
• Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks
• Previous experience in dust suppression, construction, landfill, or materials site operations is an asset
• Strong commitment to safety and compliance with regulations
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Physically able to perform duties associated with the role

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Outdoor work in varying weather conditions
• Operation in active construction, facilities, and materials site environments
• Seasonal / full time employment.

COMPENSATION INFORMATION:

The expected compensation range for this position is $32.00 - $34.00 per hour. Placement within the range is dependent on a variety of factors including qualifications and experience
