Job summary

Blue Mountain Resort is seeking a Seasonal Supervisor, Snowmaking and Trail Maintenance. You’ll lead a dedicated team, set daily objectives, and work across departments to keep trails safe and ready for winter operations.

Summer projects include forest management, erosion control, and preventative maintenance to prepare for the season start. Primary duties include equipment upkeep, safety compliance, and coordinating with the Manager and other divisions to ensure high standards of guest safety

Qualifications

• Must have a valid G class driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record.
• Experience operating snowmobiles; on steep slopes is an asset.
• Strong knowledge of on-hill operations and safety standards.
• Knowledge of OHSA and TSSA regulations.
• Familiarity with Blue Mountain trail systems is an asset.
• Knowledge of excavating and trenching construction methods is an asset.
• Ministry of Labour Chain Saw training or willingness to obtain.
• Experience operating heavy equipment is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and set day-to-day objectives for the team focused on targets and service standards.
• Assist front-line staff with setting up ribbons, fences, padding, tree trimming and drainage; snowmobile use.
• Develop, facilitate and track departmental training programs.
• Create and update departmental SOPs (Health & Safety, Equipment Operation, etc.).
• Manage team performance; conduct coaching and performance reviews.
• Ensure equipment is maintained and logs/reports are kept; assist in incident investigations.
