Background & Purpose of the Job

We are looking for a Seasonal Sanitation Technician at our Ice Cream Manufacturing factory in Simcoe, Ontario.Our factory produces brand names such as Breyers, Ben & Jerry's, Magnum, Klondike, Popsicle, Wall's!!

In this role you will work under the direction of the Sanitation Supervisor to ensure a high degree of sanitation and hygiene levels for all production areas.

Who You Are & What You’ll Do

  • Clean and sanitize production areas

  • Maintain close communication with maintenance (Mechanics and Electricians) as well as Process Operators and Packaging Technicians

  • Ensure that all machines safety guards are in place and operational

  • Ensure compliance to all plant safety rules

  • Responsible for complying with existing company SHE Standards and requirements under the Occupational Health and Safety Act and its Regulations and the Workplace Safety and Insurance Act, the Environmental Protection Act, The Transportation of Dangerous Goods Act and Technical Standards and Services Act

  • Support quality and food safety programs including HACCP and FSCC-22000

  • Other on-going activities include leading 5s activities and helping push forward the overall TPM agenda.

  • Work on focused improvements and be an active member of a cell team responsible for the overall safety, quality, waste and efficiency of a set of lines

What You’ll Need to Succeed

  • High School Diploma

  • Strong sense of teamwork

  • Knowledge of WHIMS

  • HACCP trained (Preferred)

  • Computer literate

  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents relating to the job, function, or assignment
