Background & Purpose of the Job

We are looking for a Seasonal Sanitation Technician at our Ice Cream Manufacturing factory in Simcoe, Ontario. Our factory produces brand names such as Breyers, Ben & Jerry's, Magnum, Klondike, Popsicle, Wall's.

In this role, you will work under the direction of the Sanitation Supervisor to ensure a high level of sanitation and hygiene in all production areas.

Who You Are & What You’ll Do

1. Clean and sanitize production areas.
2. Maintain close communication with maintenance (Mechanics and Electricians), Process Operators, and Packaging Technicians.
3. Ensure that all machine safety guards are in place and operational.
4. Ensure compliance with all plant safety rules.
5. Adhere to company SHE Standards and requirements under relevant safety and environmental laws.
6. Support quality and food safety programs including HACCP and FSCC-22000.
7. Lead 5S activities and contribute to TPM initiatives.
8. Participate in focused improvements and work as part of a cell team responsible for safety, quality, waste reduction, and efficiency.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

• High School Diploma
• Strong teamwork skills
• Knowledge of WHMIS
• HACCP training (preferred)
• Computer literacy
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents related to the job
