Job summary

The City of Beaumont is hiring a 6-month term Operator for the Parks team. The role supports municipal green spaces and assets, including sidewalks, rinks, and parks, with up to 40 hours per week. You will operate snow equipment, maintain assets, mentor casual staff, and ensure safety and service excellence.

Required: HS Diploma or GED, Class 5 license with Q endorsement, experience with snow tools, and Cityworks. Benefits include gym membership and free parking at City facilities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Class 5 driver’s license with Q endorsement.
• Experience operating snow moving equipment and tractors.
• Proficient computer skills (MS Office) and Cityworks.
• Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and safety practices.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• First Aid and CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Operate snow moving equipment (skid steers, tool cats, brooms, blades, tractors, blowers, sanders).
• Perform daily inspections and respond to service requests via Cityworks.
• Maintain equipment and outdoor rinks; snow removal and sanding on sidewalks.
• Train and mentor casual staff; supervise third-party contractors.
• Deliver excellent customer service to residents and stakeholders.
• Follow safety policies and keep accurate records.
• Assist other service areas as needed.
