Job summary

Heritage Park is hiring a 1st Cook to join Culinary Services for a seasonal period in Calgary. Under the Chefs, you will organize and conduct the preparation and cooking of food products across kitchen areas.

The role requires a minimum of 2 years in culinary work, with 1 year in a similar 2nd Cook role; 1st Cook experience is an asset. You’ll work in a fast-paced setting with health, safety, and quality as top priorities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; culinary education an asset.
• Minimum 2 years of culinary experience, with at least 1 year as a 2nd Cook; 1st Cook experience an asset.
• Proven experience in preparing and presenting a variety of dishes in a high-volume kitchen.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook various dishes in assigned kitchen areas, ensuring quality and presentation meet standards.
• Follow recipes and guidelines provided by the Chefs.
• Monitor food quality and freshness, making adjustments as necessary.
• Ensure cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area; inspect equipment and report issues.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations and food storage standards.
• Assist other sections in Kitchen/Culinary Services as needed.
• Perform other duties as required.
