Landscapers By Nature Ltd. in Calgary is seeking a Snow Removal Technician for the winter season. The role is full-time and seasonal, from October to May, with on-call winter work. Shifts start around 6:30 AM and vary by operational needs.

Top performers may be offered full-time employment after the winter season. We operate across SE, SW, and NE Calgary locations to keep roads and sites clear. You will work with shovels, snow blowers, salt spreaders and other equipment as directed, contributing

Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to snow and ice events.
• Be free from drugs/alcohol affecting safety or productivity before shifts.
• Clear snow and ice from designated areas using shovels, snowblowers, and salt spreaders.
• Pile snow in designated locations only.
• Document and report obstacles or hazards on site(s).
• Participate in pre-shift inspections, hazard assessments and equipment maintenance.
• Perform basic maintenance and small repairs on equipment.
• Wear appropriate personal protective equipment at all times.
• Comply with all company policies and local health and safety laws.
• Work in accordance with health and safety regulations.

Position Type & Schedule

Full time with seasonal fluctuations – expect to be busier during spring/fall season changes, and slightly less in the middle of summer and winter. All start times 6:30AM or slightly later, depending on operational needs. Summer is Monday to Thursday with occasional Friday's, Winter is on-call - we work when Mother Nature says we do!

This position is available from October to May and is seasonal. Top performers may be offered full time employment following the Winter season.

Position Overview

The Snow Removal Technician (Maintenance Labourer) is responsible for the safe and productive removal of snow and ice from our customer job sites, walkways, and traffic areas using shovels, snow blowers and other equipment as directed. Lead Technicians have the same role, the difference is that they step in for the Crew Lead when required. Because of this, Lead Technicians must have valid drivers licenses and qualify for insurance.

Job Duties

• Prepare and show up for shifts free from the influence of any drugs, alcohol, or medicines that influence safety or productivity


• Clear snow and ice accumulations from customer sites from designated areas using shovels, snowblowers, salt spreaders and bagged salt


• Pile snow in designated and approved locations only


• Document and report any obstacles or hazards on site(s)


• Participate in pre-shift inspections, hazard assessments and maintenance on all small equipment


• Perform basic maintenance and small repairs on small equipment as required


• Wear appropriate personal protective equipment at all times


• Comply with all company policies and procedures


• Work in accordance with all local health and safety laws and regulations

Work Conditions

• Flexible working hours including weekend and holiday work (Holiday work is rare, only in necessary conditions)
