Job summary

Geller’s Winnipeg is hiring a Snow Maintenance Team Member to support our winter snow clearing operations. This on-call, seasonal role involves early-morning shifts to keep residential and commercial properties safe and accessible during snow events.

We seek dependable individuals with English fluency, physical stamina, and a team-first attitude. Training is provided; weekend work may be required. Potential transition to summer work based on performance.

Qualifications

• Speak, read, and write English.
• Reliable transportation to Winnipeg/Headingley/St. Andrews.
• Physical ability to stand, bend, and work with hands for long periods.
• Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Able to listen to and follow instructions from supervisors.
• Team-oriented attitude and strong work ethic.
• Comfortable outdoors in cold weather.
• Willingness to work weekends when required.
• Positive attitude and eagerness to learn.
• Class 5 Driver’s License preferred.

Responsibilities

• Be on-call and ready to start shifts when snow falls or ice events occur.
• Shifts typically 10–13 hours, early start times (as early as 3:00 AM).
• Report for duty at the designated crew meeting point; reliable transportation required.
• Use a shovel and hand tools to clear snow and ice from sidewalks, walkways, driveways, entrances, etc.
• Arrive with appropriate winter clothing (boots, gloves, jacket, snow pants).
• Maintain a safe pace and attention to detail in winter conditions.
• Follow instructions from crew leads and work effectively as a crew member.
• Demonstrate punctuality, reliability and strong work ethic.
• After winter season, opportunities may exist for summer employment based on performance.

Position Overview:

We are hiring Snow Maintenance Team Member to work with our winter snow clearing maintenance crew to keep outdoor living spaces looking their best. We are seeking dependable, hardworking individuals, as this is an on-call, seasonal position with early-morning starts, ensuring our clients’ residential and commercial properties are safe and accessible throughout the winter months.

What You’ll Do:

• Be on-call and ready to start shifts when snow falls or ice events occur.


• Typical shifts are 10-13 hours, often beginning in the early morning (start times may be as early as 3:00 AM).


• Report for duty at the designated crew meeting point, reliable transportation is required to reach the site.


• Use a shovel (and other hand tools as required) to clear snow and ice from sidewalks, walkways, driveways, entrances, etc.


• Arrive prepared with appropriate winter clothing (boots, gloves, jacket, snow pants, etc.).
